With this coverage, families can access the dental care they need without worrying about high costs. Our goal is to make dental visits stress-free and accessible, so Virginia residents can use their Medicaid benefits right here in our office.

What is the Virginia Medicaid CardinalCare Smiles Program?

The Smiles for Children program is Virginia’s dedicated dental program for individuals enrolled in Medicaid, FAMIS, or FAMIS Plus. It provides children and young adults, 20 years of age and younger, with comprehensive dental benefits, including preventive, restorative, and emergency care. This program also extends dental benefits to adult pregnant members enrolled in Medicaid and FAMIS MOMS, ensuring they receive necessary dental care throughout pregnancy.

The Smiles for Children program comes at no additional cost to eligible members, making essential dental care more affordable for families across Virginia. Managed by DentaQuest, this program is offered through the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).
